scaba are delighted to be hosting a workshop by Dr Roger Webster at the HAWTH THEATRE in Crawley on SATURDAY 28th OCTOBER, during which he will be addressing methods of warming up, preparing pieces for performances, and how to prepare ourselves.
The workshop will start at 10.00 am and continue until 2.00 pm, with a lunch break. The restaurant area in the Hawth will provide a full menu over lunchtime.
The cost of this workshop will be £5.00, discounted to £3.00 for members of scaba bands. Payment to be collected on the day please.
Players of any age, any standard and any brass instrument are welcome – and please bring your instrument with you.

Own choice Test Piece & Hymn tune contest
This contest will be run in 2 mixed ‘open’ sections: A Section for bands graded Championship, First and Second section nationally; and B Section for bands nationally graded in the Third, Fourth and Youth sections. Ungraded bands may choose which section to play in, subject to contest management approval.
Prizes will be awarded for each Section and for 1st-3rd places, best Hymn Tune, best Conductor and Instrumental prizes in each of the A and B Sections.
Order of play will be pre-drawn.
Closed adjudication; our adjudicator will be Sarah Groarke-Booth
Tickets for all contests held at The Hawth are available from the box office on the day: £7.50 / concessions £4 / children under 10 free.
(Competing bands will be provided with free Competitors’ tickets for their players and conductor, and may order supporters’ tickets in advance for £4)
