Regional Success for scaba member bands

The past few weeks have seen around 15,000 bandsmen and women compete in 8 regions across the country for qualification to the finals of the National Championships of Great Britain, and gradings. scaba member bands competed in the West of England regional in Torquay and the London & Southern Counties (LSC) region in Stevenage.

scaba are delighted and proud to count 2 Regional Champion bands and 7 National Finalists amongst our members in 2017:
In the 4th section, Shanklin Town Band will represent the West of England following a 3rd place in Torquay, and they will be joined by the London & Southern Counties champions Regent Community Brass.
Fairlop Brass secured a trip to the finals with a 3rd place in the LSC 3rd Section, and Amersham and Otterbourne both go forward to the 2nd section finals following their 2nd places in Stevenage and Torquay.
Not to be outdone by their community band, Regent Brass will represent LSC in the First section finals with a well deserved 2nd place yesterday.

We applaud all these bands on a fantastic set of results, and wish them the best of luck for the National Finals in Cheltenham in September.

The final qualifier from scaba will represent the LSC region in the Championship section finals. Congratulations to Friary Guildford band on winning their 3rd successive Regional title and earning a 5th consecutive appearance at the Royal Albert Hall in October.
