Last year, a momentous event occurred in the worlds of both
Brass Bands and Charity Fundraising - Briony Thompson, a
young member of Stanhope Brass, decided to help raise money
for the 'Make Poverty History' movement. Her band's
conductor, Steve Robson, planned to record a CD with other
local bands - but Briony decided it should be a celebrity
recording, including a special band arrangement of
"Do they know it's Christmas (Feed the World)" - and
Brass Band Aid was born.
