Party in the Park 2008 took place on
Saturday 28th June between
1.30pm-4.30pm at Fassnidge Park in
Uxbridge, Middlesex. A free
local community event for Hillingdon
families, it was sponsored by the
Families Information Service (FIS)
at Hillingdon Council and The Mall
Pavilions shopping centre, as part
of the celebrations for Childcare
Month. It is also supported by
the Green Spaces team at Hillingdon
Council.
This event proved to be a fantastic
opportunity to promote the Band and
especially our training band to
local families, parents and carers.
Everyone could find out about the
band's origins, and its recent and
future activities. There was a
selection of brass instruments for
them to try. Lots of children
did, and everyone of them succeeded
in getting out a note. We hope
that at least a few of them will be
coming along to the Training band in
the coming weeks.
Throughout the afternoon our 10
piece ensemble provided musical
entertainment in the Park's small
but very well maintained bandstand.
