Yiewsley
and West Drayton Band has taken a step forward into
the world of social networking by having a page on
facebook.com. It contains pictures, news
stories from the bandroom, event information, and
will soon carry video and audio clips.
Facebook users become "fans" and receive a news feed
on any updates made to the band page.
Clayton MacLean, Yiewsley's PR Officer, is confident
that the move will encourage followers of the band
to give their reactions to the band's concert
performances, their suggestions on repertoire and
on how they would like to see the band progress.
Also it will provide a platform for past and
present members to keep in contact and to find out
what they have been up to in the brass band
movement.
Paul Barker, Band Chairman said "Facebook is a
fantastic way for people to interact and connect
with each other, especially if they have shared
interests, so it seemed logical that the Band should
try and become a part of it."
To see or join the Yiewsley and West Drayton
Facebook page you need to create a Facebook
account.
