Those of you who follow the association will be aware that contest entries have been declining over the past few years and scaba has reluctantly cancelled some contests to avoid making significant financial losses.
The scaba team is working hard to be a representative association for bands in our region, and to offer more than just contesting. We support the Southern Counties Youth Band (SCYB) which is open to all young brass and percussion players, and this year we launched a new non-competitive Brass Festival.
Bands in our area are all welcome to join the Association, and member bands are encouraged to participate in our regular meetings and have their say in scaba’s organisation and activities. Our next meeting on 20th October will be focusing on the future of the Association, and we would love to hear your thoughts and ideas.
